Bloodwood is a breathtaking wood with some of the deepest crimson tones in all of hardwood. This South American treasure is highly sought after for a multitude of reasons, not the least of which is its incredibly smooth texture, making it not only pleasing to the eye, but pleasing to the touch. The unique heartwood can vary from grayish red to deep red, and the wood’s high luster further intensifies these beautiful shades. Besides being one of the most striking woods on the market, Bloodwood is also one of the most durable, boasting a Janka hardness rating of 2900, about 140% stronger than Red Oak. With its strength and amazing looks, Bloodwood makes a bold and beautiful statement in any setting.
Color: Greyish red to deep red to almost purple.
Photosensitivity: Blood wood has minimal photosensitivity and will darken slightly over time.
